The report from the ge found that the renovation could cost R$800 million, disbursed by the construction company itself. In exchange, it will be able to explore the use of Morumbi for 30 years.

Among the improvements presented is the inclusion of partial coverage of the site. This is an old appeal from fans of the São Paulo.
There is also the possibility of carrying out the renovation without the coverage, and with this the initial proposal would be valued at around R$500 million.

Covered or not, the capacity of the remodeled Morumbi will be the same: 85 thousand fans on game days. The initial idea is for the lower ring to be demolished and the middle ring to be extended until very close to the lawn. As a result, the athletics track will no longer exist.
To accommodate all this capacity after the demolition of a ring, the grandstand will increase four steps. In this way, Morumbi would be even taller than it is today and with greater capacity.
The project also includes a modular amphitheater for 20,000 people and a parking lot for two thousand vehicles. The renovation is expected to be completed in 2030, the year of the Tricolor’s centenary.
Recently, the São Paulo agreed to sell Morumbi’s naming rights to Mondelez. The stadium will be renamed MorumBIS.
