The top scorer Talles Wander did not disappoint and guaranteed the classification of São Paulo in the third phase of the Copa São Paulo. The striker scored the winning goal for the tricolor over Retrô, today, by 1-0, at the Bento de Abreu Sampaio Vidal stadium, in Marília (SP).
- São Paulo made a lot of mistakes with the ball rolling, especially in the first half, and had difficulty breaking through Retrô’s defense;
- Talles Wander took responsibility for converting the penalty early in the second half;
- The striker is São Paulo’s top scorer in the Copinha and runner-up in the competition, behind only Rikelme (Cuiabá);
- Retro ended the match with two players less. Alisson and Renatinho were expelled.
- Tricolor faces América-MG in the next phase of the competition, on a day and time that are still undefined.
Curiosity: São Paulo has yet to concede a goal in this edition of the Copinha. On the other hand, he has already rocked the nets 11 times.
to departure
São Paulo controls the game, circles the area, but abuses the errors. Tricolor started the match looking for quick exchanges of passes and plays with the wingers, but as it got comfortable, it started to circle the opposing area, controlling ball possession. The high number of wrong passes and the lack of aim at the end kept the score at zero.
Retranca do Retrô works, and Lucas Menino closes the goal. The team from Pernambuco even took a risk in the attack in the first minutes, with the ball hitting the post, but spent most of the first stage “locked” in their field. Putting up to five men on the last line, Retrô still had a good performance by the goalkeeper to hold Tricolor.
Talles Wander does not forgive, and scores a penalty for São Paulo. The striker reaches five goals in the Copinha and assumes the vice-artillery of the competition.
Retro tries to react even with one player less; São Paulo takes advantage of spaces. The Pernambuco team went up to Tricolor in search of at least a draw — even after Alisson was expelled — but did little to scare the opposing defense. São Paulo already managed, looking for a chance to kill the match.
Renatinho is expelled after violent entry into Newerton. In stoppage time, the player from Retrô tried to stop a São Paulo counterattack and, in midfield, made a hard foul. Renatinho received a straight red and Newerton left the field in tears.
goals
1×0: Talles Wander opened the scoring for São Paulo three minutes into the second half. The number 9 shirt was knocked down by Rodrigo inside the area, went to the penalty spot and sent it to the left, with no chance for Lucas Menino.
