After presenting its remodeled and adjusted project to the City of Rio de Janeiro and the public, Vasco is acting in parallel with the process of possible sale of the construction potential of São Januário, which has already been signed by Mayor Eduardo Paes.
Construction potential is the authorization given by the municipality for construction above that permitted by zoning on a given piece of land. In other words, it is an addition to the right to build, which makes it possible to increase the number of floors and/or the construction area.
In the case of Vasco, Paes transferred the construction potential of São Januário to regions in the Barra da Tijuca neighborhood, in the West Zone (RJ), and the club has the right to sell it and use the resources to finance the renovation.
