Sanur Beach Pedestrian Area in Denpasar to Prohibit the Use of E-Bikes – ANTARA News

The Denpasar City Government in Bali has announced a ban on the use of electric bicycles at Sanur Beach pedestrian area, effective 1 April 2023. Officials plan to relocate the allowed area to Danau Tamblingan Street to maintain the safety and comfort of the iconic tourism spot for both locals and foreign tourists. The new regulation indicated in Mayoral Regulation No. 51/2022 is intended to offer guidance to all stakeholders in the Sanur Beach Area. The ban was conveyed to e-bike and e-motorcycle rental service providers by the Denpasar city administration and customary villages. The move follows a series of complaints from pedestrians and tourists about the speeding and honking of e-bikes, which can disturb the peace and serenity of the area.
