O Santos agreed to loan striker Lucas Braga to Shimizu S-Pulse (Japan) for one season, with the sale price fixed. Although coach Fábio Carille showed interest in the player remaining for 2024, the board understood that there is a lot of friction between him and the fans and accepted the Japanese proposal.
Recently, the club tried to make an exchange with Corinthians, offering the player for goalkeeper Ivan, but the salary difference stopped the negotiation. Peixe has been trying to reduce its salary after the unprecedented drop to Series B and the athlete has a salary above the ceiling established for the Series B dispute.
During the season, Lucas Braga had one goal, one assist and 41 appearances. The striker had even been playing improvised on the team’s right wing. With a Santos contract until April 30, 2026, the athlete has 200 games and 18 goals scored for the club. He is 27 years old and has been at Alvinegro for four years.
Lucas Braga arrived at Santos in 2019 from Luverdense, being one of the highlights of the Mato Grosso team. That year, he was loaned to Cuiabá. Afterwards, he returned to Peixe, consolidating himself in the team and being part of the Libertadores runner-up squad. Since then, he has been part of Alvinegro’s main team.
