Eduardo Bauermann, Santos defender, is one of the athletes investigated by the Goiás Public Prosecutor’s Office in Operation Maximum Penalty, which investigates suspicions of manipulation in Serie A games of the Brazilian Championship last year.

Bauermann took the red for complaining after the final whistle. Referee Bráulio da Silva Machado reported the following: “You are clowning around, you are a bastard, you are always screwing us, arbitration always harms Santos”.
Bauermann confirms he was approached in an attempt to solicitbut denies having been part of the betting scheme
A search warrant was served at Bauermann’s homewho handed over his cell phone and is awaiting a hearing to testify
The prosecution investigates the players who were sought by those responsible for the scheme and claims that not all carried out the manipulation
The defender trained normally and will face Audax Italiano this Thursday, in Vila Belmiro, for the Copa Sudamericana

“Santos Futebol Clube informs that it learned, from Eduardo Bauermann himself, that the player is one of those investigated in the second phase of Operation Maximum Penalty. In conversation with president Andres Rueda, coach Odair Hellmann and sports coordinator, Paulo Roberto Falcão, the athlete explained the attempt at enticement, who promptly denied the proposal and has already made himself available to Justice.

Nine players are investigated in Operation Maximum Penalty II. Prosecutor Fernando Cesconetto cited the athletes as being the object of search and seizure warrants.
The names confirmed by the report are: Igor Cariús, Gabriel Tota, Victor Ramos, Kevin Lomónaco, Moraes and Eduardo Bauermann. The first four names were initially published by “ge”.
Cesconetto did not name names and stressed that no player was arrested. The apprehension targets cell phones and notes.
