The Murcian town of Santiago de la Ribera, located in the municipality of San Javier, will be the scene of the fifth tournament of the Madison Beach Volley Tour beach volleyball circuit, which will arrive in the Region with the Costa Cálida International Open that will be held from 9 to September 12.
The championship, which will take place on the beach of Barnuevo, was presented this Friday in an event that took place in the coastal town and was attended by the Minister of Presidency, Tourism and Sports of the Autonomous Community, Marcos Ortuño ; the mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, the representative of the Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation (RFEVB), together with Mario Bernaola; and the director of External Relations of the company Madison Sports Marketing, Teresa Cetulio.
The event, whose competition is scheduled for both the male and female categories and which will include leisure activities for all audiences, will start on Thursday, September 9 at five in the afternoon with the start of the first round of the qualifying tournament. and the next day there will be 11 hours of beach volleyball from nine in the morning. The group stage will be held on Saturday, September 11, and the quarter-finals are scheduled for five in the afternoon. The competition will end on Sunday with the semifinals and finals, the women’s at six in the afternoon and the men’s at seven.
The Madison Beach Volley Tour, which has been held since 2013, has already completed in this edition the appointments of Menorca, Madrid and the Cantabrian town of Laredo, from September 2 to 5 it will visit the Malaga town of Fuengirola, where the Championship of Spain for beach volleyball, and from there it will land in San Javier, the last stop being in Alicante, specifically in El Campello, from October 1 to 3.
Several weeks after the celebration of the Costa Cálida Internacional Open Marcos Ortuño has highlighted that the organization of the circuit has included it in its calendar.
