Santiago Cambero: “It is time to re-educate ourselves while we rethink another future” | Radio Extremadura

The director of the Scientific Committee of the Observatory of Families and Children of Extremadura and professor of Sociology at UEX, Santiago Cambero, stresses that “Hopefully we glimpse the appearance of a shared humanity in post-COVID-19 society, with other capacities to adapt as a species to the extraordinary circumstances of this global pandemic ”.

The family, the basic cell of society, is affected by this situation of health crisis imposed by house confinement, with positive and negative impacts. One of the benefits would be the redistribution of the always scarce time for family matters, which has stimulated new dynamics of telematized interpersonal affections, support in school tasks, distribution of domestic tasks, enjoyment of hobbies, … in short, sharing spaces and times with the family.

On the International Day of the Family in Extremadura, “To live for two days,” we spent a few minutes designing the post-COVID-19 society.
