Santander Bank Offers Payment Deferrals for Clients Affected by Hurricane Otis in Guerrero

Through the program “Connect with Guerrero” Santander Bank announced that, for the more than 70 thousand clients who were affected by the impact of Hurricane Otis in Guerrero and who are up to date with their payments, it will defer payment of personal, payroll, mortgage and automotive loans for up to six months, as well as such as credit cards and microcredits.

Also to those people who have commercial credits from individuals or legal entities with business activity y SMEs, y microcreditswith the purpose, indicated that they can focus on the recovery of their activities.

“As a responsible bank, we are clear that the magnitude of Otis impact -in Acapulco particularly- implies a recovery period that is difficult to estimate and that is why we have implemented the “Conecta con Guerrero” program to help our clients, which seeks to give them time to begin to resume their activities: it is our way of taking the first steps to help Acapulco rise,” said Felipe García Ascencio, general director of Grupo Financiero Santander México.

He specified that with “Connect with Guerrero” the clients affected Otis and those who live or work in the disaster zones thus determined by the authorities will be able to access the benefit “in accordance with a scheme that will be defined shortly, given the communication difficulties in the area.”

He explained that group microcredits for productive activities such as those facilitated by Tuiio will have this same benefit, which they must manage directly with their Tuiio advisors with whom they coordinate their support group.

Noting that the search for new support measures will continue so that the region can recover, he explained that the banking institution has provided special support for its collaborators with interest-free loans, suspension of payments on internal credits, emotional support line, as well as the management of medical services.
