Santa Tecla defeated San Miguel 4-2 at the Las Delicias National Stadium and retained fourth place in the general standings at the start of matchday 38 of the National Football League Lottery Cup 2023-2024.
The Tecleño team took the lead on the scoreboard with a goal from William Mejía in the 7th minute.
The Miguel team reacted until the 39th minute with the score from Erick Orellana.
Everything looked like a 1-1 in the first half but Carlos Henríquez scored the second goal for the parakeet team for a 2-1.
Upon returning from the break, Santa Tecla proposed a better offensive proposal which bore fruit with the scoring of David Miranda and Samuel Reinoza, at minute 55 and 79 for a 4-1.
It seemed that the final stretch would be more comfortable for the host but Levis Lazo’s goal, at 89′, added excitement to the closing, but the score no longer moved to 4-2.
Santa Tecla reaches 73 to remain in fourth place and the Migueleños are immovable in third place with 80 units.
It was the third victory in a row for the parakeets who will close the third round against Santa Ana.
