Santa Monica Studio, the developer behind the hit PlayStation 4 hit ‘God of War’, today provided an update on the status of the highly anticipated sequel game God of War 2. Unfortunately for fans, the developer doesn’t have such good news: Due to the corona epidemic, it has been decided to postpone the release of the game to 2022.
“While we remain focused on creating a top-quality game, we must also think about the safety and well-being of our team, our creative partners and our families. With this in mind, we have decided to delay the game’s release. shift to 2022,” the God of War developer wrote on Twitter.
God of War 2 became official during the PS5 Showcase last year announced with an unexpected 2021 release window. A date that is no longer feasible because many companies had to work from home in the past year with limited resources and the necessary delays as a result.
The God of War sequel isn’t the only game to have its release date delayed by a year. Previously, the releases of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Hogwarts Legacy, Gotham Knights and Gran Turismo 7 were also postponed.
