The neighborhood of Santa María de Gracia (Murcia) will host the XIX Outdoor Painting Contest on Saturday, October 2. A contest that has established itself in its genre as one of the most important at the national level after almost twenty years of existence.

In fact, said contest exceeds two decades of life, although both in 2019 and 2020 it could not be held. Two years ago as a sign of solidarity for those affected by the DANA of Los Alcázares and last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The appointment is organized by the parish of the neighborhood, its person in charge, Ramón García, has gone through the program Hoy por hoy Murcia, where he told us that it was he himself and his team of collaborators who launched this Contest of Outdoor painting. “I believe that the parish in addition to being a place of worship for the faithful should also be a place where culture is promoted and committed,” he said on Radio Murcia.
Hence, this Saturday, brushes and canvases take over the well-known neighborhood again to try to reflect its beauty in a few hours. According to the parish priest, the participants are expected to exceed one hundred “as has happened in previous editions.”
Registrations can be made that same day from 08:30 to 10:30 in the morning. The creation time will be until 5:00 p.m. On this occasion, a total of seven prizes will be awarded, all of them with cash, counting the first prize of a total of 1,200 euros.
