Santa Claus went to Colomiers Rugby

The little Columérins have been spoiled. At the foot of the big tree installed in the club house, they were able to collect their Christmas presents. “We wanted to mark the occasion despite this complicated year and this difficult season,” noted the co-president of the association Serge Toneguzzo. Moved, the leader had a thought for Jean-Louis Peysson who died recently. The one who usually played the role of Santa Claus with his long beard and his natural good nature left a great void, but thanks to the devotion of volunteers like Audrey and Sylvie, the tradition has been preserved. “They invested themselves in order to be able to offer a little moment of joy to the kids,” greeted Serge, while the children and their coaches followed drastic logistics before attending the presentation of the gifts. “They did a good job and the little ones will still have a memory of this year,” congratulated a co-president in a hurry to move into 2021.

A comforting moment

Laughter and cries of joy thus brought a little happiness on the eve of New Year’s Eve. Cut into small groups in order to respect the sanitary instructions, the categories followed one another patiently before opening the packages and taking the souvenir photo. Backpacks, jerseys, personalized water bottles… The budding rugby players were pampered by Santa Claus. This festive atmosphere brought a little light in the middle of a season interrupted by confinements and the impossibility for almost all of the youth teams to be able to play. For the moment only training is authorized and if the situation improves during January all categories will be able to practice rugby as before, which would be for many the most beautiful of gifts.
