With 13 wins in 16 games, Santa Ana is the leader of the 2024 Apertura Tournament Copa Tigo Sports of the Major Basketball League (LMB). Last night, they took advantage of their home status and beat Santiagueño 111-64, a result that brought them to 29 points.
Lee Vásquez, Timothy Simmons and Abdulbasit Ajia had a spectacular night at the David Vega Mojica Gym. Vásquez was the top scorer with 47 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, while Simmons had a triple-double with 19 points, 20 rebounds and 20 assists, and Ajia completed a double-double with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists.
The Santanecos took over the game from the first period with a resounding 41-15, achieving a 26-point lead that gave them the confidence to play their game throughout the game.
The dominance of the locals continued in the second roll thanks to the effectiveness of Ajia, who added nine of the 28 points that Santa Ana added to the scoreboard, against the 11 of the Usulute team, expanding the distance to 43 on aggregate (69-26 ).

The Tigo Sports Cup matches for today will pit Lobos against Santa Tecla on Court 20-30 in Chalchuapa and San Salvador hosts Brujos de Izalco at the Inclusive Sports City (CDI).
