The Santa Ana team, already qualified for the next phase, beat Alacranes 1-0 at the Óscar Quiteño Stadium at the close of matchday 37 of the 2023-24 Lottery Cup in the National Football League (LNF).
A goal from Denis Lima at 24 minutes gave the victory to the Santaneco team and with that result it reaches 65 points in the standings, establishing itself in sixth place. While Alacranes was left with 42 units in tenth position.
Santa Ana dominated the match at will, but could not achieve any more scoring opportunities. The visitors withstood the attacks of the Westerners, preventing the Santaneco victory from being wider.
Atlético La Unión won a golden victory on its visit to the Alonso Alegría Stadium after beating Cuscatleco 0-2. This victory leaves him with 50 points and in classification positions with two days left to play.
The visitors settled the game in two minutes after Jhan Carlos Asprilla scored in the 4th minute and Adonay Martínez hit the net just two minutes later.
With the match uphill and down on the scoreboard by two goals, Cuscatleco could not find a way to score and lost at home. Those from Cuscatlán are in 12th place in the table with 18 points.
San Vicente beat Morazán 5-0 at the Jiboa Stadium, in a duel in which the locals reached 33 points and remain fixed in 11th place in the classification table, 9 points from tenth place and 15 from thirteenth place.
Morazán, for his part, experienced his 30th defeat in the tournament and remains in last position with 14 points.
The scorers for the Vicentino team were Milton Amaya (4′), José Quiñónez (17′), José Vega with a double (19′ and 65′) and Julio Pérez (36′).
San Miguel and Usulután tied 1-1 at the Juan Francisco Barraza Stadium, a result that prevented the Usulutecos from confirming their classification to the next phase, since with two dates left to play, they remained in fifth place with 67 points, followed by Santa Ana Municipal, which has 62.
The locals took the lead with a goal from Luis Lazo in the 36th minute, but Usulután’s response came at the end of the first half. The visitors’ scorer, Anthony Águila, scored at 45’+1 to tie the game and score his 36th goal in the tournament.
The standings are led by Cabañas with 89 points; San Salvador has 82; San Miguel 80; Santa Tecla 70; Usulutan 67; Santa Ana 65; La Unión 50 and Ahuachapán 46, which occupy the classification positions. Behind them are Sonsonate with 43; Scorpions 42; Saint Vincent 33; Cuscatleco 18; La Paz 17 and Morazán 14.
