Alexander Stubb took office as President of the Republic of Finland today.

MPs, former prime ministers and other invited guests were present at the inauguration.

Former Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin was also present.

After the inauguration, Marin published a message to both President Sauli Niinistö and the President of the Republic, Alexander Stubb, in her Instagram stories and in the X message service.

In his writing, Marin quoted President Stubb’s speech.

Marin sat in a seat that was separate from the other ex-prime ministers. Eero Heinäluoma, who arrived after Marin, sat in the ex-prime ministers’ enclosure between Matti Vanhanen and Anneli Jäätteenmäki. Heinäluoma is not a former prime minister.
