The last attempt to get into the Indian team; Will Sanju be able to take advantage of the fallen opportunity?

India now have a packed cricket calendar ahead of them. India have five series to play in the next four months. Three of them are Test series.

The top board had recommended that everyone should play domestic matches before this test series. The BCCI has also asked all players who have a major contract with India to take the field for the Duleep Trophy.

But when the team for the Duleep Trophy was announced, those who were looking for the name of Rajasthan skipper Sanju Sassamon were in for a disappointment. It was assessed that the poor performance in the series against Sri Lanka was a setback for the player. He was dropped when Sanju needed to shine in the Duleep Trophy to make a comeback.

But now reports are coming out that Sanju was not harassed but given a break.

Sanju has been with the Indian team for the past few months. Sanju was part of the T20 squad for both India after the World Cup tour of Zimbabwe and India’s tour of Sri Lanka.

So, the report claims that Sanju was left out of the first matches of the Duleep Cup as he asked for rest.

But after the first two matches, all the key players in the Indian team will be part of the Bangladesh Test series. With this, there will be a change in the Duleep Cup team. As Sanju is currently not featured in India’s red ball format, it is rumored that he might play in the Duleep Trophy.

In the current situation, Sanju will have to fight to get a place in the squad for the T20I series against Bangladesh as well. If he shines in the final matches of the Duleep Cup, the door of hope will remain open for Sanju, albeit a little.
