Malayali batsman Sanju Samson said he should have played in the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup final which India won. He was dropped from the team just before the casting. Sanju revealed in an interview to a YouTube channel that Captain Rohit Sharma spoke in detail about this.

“The management of the team had prepared a proposal to play the final against South Africa. So be prepared mentally and physically. Rohit said this during the warm-up just before the toss. It was decided not to change the team. When I tried to explain the reason, he replied that he would talk after everything was played. The returning skipper came again within a minute.
