Sanità Sicilia: ok to grant, extension or annual renewal of fixed-term contracts

The Region communicated this with a letter to the heads of Asp hospitals and polyclinics.

The councilor for health of Sicily, Ruggero Razza (photo), and the general manager of the Department for Strategic Planning, Mario La Rocca, have given the green light to the conferment, extension or annual renewal of fixed-term contracts in the health agencies of the island. They did so through a note sent on 11 December to the top management of Asp, hospitals and polyclinics, with the aim of providing “General indications for the planning of personnel needs”.

“Without prejudice to the further different indications of timing regarding the recruitment of personnel to deal with the Covid-19 emergency – reads the note -, these companies are invited, within the qualitative and quantitative limits set by legislative decrees no. 81 of 2015 and no. 165 of 2001 (and subsequent amendments and additions), to evaluate as of now the opportunity to confer, extend or renew for the duration of one year, fixed-term contracts for all those disciplines and professional profiles deemed necessary to meet the organizational needs within its competence, as well as to ensure the maintenance of Leas and all emergency activities to combat the spread of the infection “.

From the Department of Health they also underline: “There is also the need to progressively bring the expenditure for this type of fixed-term relationship within the limits set by sector legislation for the containment of available resources”.
