Sandu wants Moldova to join the EU

Moldovan President Maya Sandu said that her country will strive to join the European Union (EU). She warned the Russian authorities.

Asked if Russia would allow Moldova to join the European Union, Sandu said she had warned the Russian authorities that the EU model is a model for her country.

“Moldova wants to become a member of the EU one day. We would like to get there sooner rather than later,” Sandu said.

She calls for respect for this country’s choice.
