At social media has contributed to greater body pressure due to retouched and “perfect” bodies from influencers and big celebrities like the Kardashians, is not infrequently up for discussion.
Artist Sandra Lyng (34) has long been a public voice in this fight, where she fights to stop precisely this form of body pressure.
Marie (25) showed how easy it is to retouch to a new body – in three minutes
Became another person in 2 minutes
Recently, the artist shared two photos of himself in a bathing suit on his own Instagram account. The first photo is perhaps what we are most used to seeing in the popular photo sharing app; retouched body from head to toe.
– This is not me, she writes under the picture before she continues:
«Swipe for real image.
Little reminds that much in here has been retouched, posed or operated on.
You are nice as you are. I’m fine as I am. And those who make such choices – also fine as they are.
I’m not here to judge anyone. Just want to remind you that you are good enough. “
The second image is the unedited version. If we put the two pictures next to each other, we see in the first picture a Sandra with a narrower waist, arms and thighs, larger breasts and buttocks, fuller hair, full makeup with marked facial contours and a flawless skin.
In a story where she shares her own post, she says that it only took her two minutes to “become another person”, when she edited the swimsuit photo of herself.

Think it’s sad
Sandra tells KK that she posted the post because she knows that we are exposed to fake pictures all the time – and she thinks that is sad.
She finds it sad that women feel they have to filter and retouch away fine lines and impure skin, which is usually very clean. And sad that it is retouched away so-called defects such as cellulite, stretch marks and bumps, which are really just smile holes, normal skin and small evidence that you have smiled, laughed and lived.
– And sad that we at all feel that we have to change our appearance before we can share it with the world. Then there is something wrong with the world, you ask me. Or social mediaSandra tells KK.
She also says that she posted the picture because she knows what such manipulated pictures can do to the psyche.
– And that’s not good. Retouched images abound on social media – and it is difficult to see which images have been changed.
She asks questions about how such images affect young people who are still looking for their identity – and who want to be good enough, cool enough and pretty enough. And what does it do to all of us when we look in the mirror and see something completely different than what “everyone else” looks like.
Isak Dreyer to KK: – I live with Sophie now
– Whether it is conscious or not, we compare ourselves. And many tend to compare their own weaknesses with the strengths of others, she says, adding:
– I was one of those who never felt good enough, and was often told that I was not. Fortunately, I have managed to turn it around now. I just want us to like who we are – who we are.

Overwhelming response
It is clear that Sandra is passionate about mental health and the fight against body pressure. She says she will continue to share posts like this until people will not hear about it anymore.
– I know that there is a lot of happiness in being in love with oneself – and a lot of pain in the opposite.
Sandra thinks the response to the post has been overwhelming.
“Wish there were no retouching apps !!! They destroy us mentally »reads a comment.
“Soon no one will post pictures that have not been retouched”sounds another.
– Some have also written that they thought the retouched image was real, because they have become so used to seeing what has been retouched, Sandra says.
