Sandra Cuevas is linked to the process; she will not be able to carry out her duties

Sandra Cuevas, mayor of Cuauhtémoc, was linked to the process for her probable participation in the crimes of abuse of authority, theft and discrimination.

The measure means that will continue to be suspended from office in front of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office, he will be prohibited from leaving the country and approaching the victims.

Cuevas will be able to continue his pprocess in freedom and must go to sign every two months before the Precautionary Measures Unit.

“I am prepared for everything, prepared to be linked to the process, even to go to prison, I am prepared for the decisions that Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo makes because this is clearly a political persecution, This is something that the head of government orchestrated, a woman who goes against another woman,” she said.

He indicated that “the bad way” and through the use of the institutions Cuauhtémoc wants to win, “he wants to steal the votes of the more than 120 thousand citizens who voted last June 6.”

In February, the capital prosecutor’s office reported that it had opened an investigation against Cuevas. Two policemen accused her of having assaulted and held them in facilities of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.

Cuevas then responded that the accusations were unfounded and part of a campaign against him, which he attributed to the head of the CDMX government.

It’s not a political issue: Sheinbaum

During the press conference this Thursday, the head of the CDMX government reiterated that the case of Sandra Cuevas is a judicial matter, not a political one, and that it has nothing to do with the capital’s government.

When questioned about whether the government will get involved in the process of reappointing a representative in the mayor’s office, the head of government said that the result of the hearing will be reviewed and from there what corresponds to the Executive will be analyzed.

“We have not even generated a process associated with that,” he replied.
