The body was found on Wednesday October 26 in a hotel room in the coastal town of Montañita, Ecuador.

Sandra Villena Manrique (32), originally from neighboring Peru, was on vacation with her boyfriend when she was found dead.

The hotel staff raised the alarm when they noticed a strong smell coming from the room.
Inside, the 32-year-old was found wrapped in a sheet and placed in a fetal position in a blue suitcase.
According to local authorities, investigations indicate that the young woman suffocated to death.
The boy is now suspected of the murder.

According to police from Santa Elena in Ecuador, the couple checked into the hotel on October 19.

According to local police, the man must have called his mother and confessed to the murder of his girlfriend. Mora then contacted the authorities and reported what his son had said.

Sandra Villena Manrique loved to travel and share vacation photos from Colombia, Miami and Iceland in the months leading up to her death.
She was a US citizen and graduated in business administration from Baruch College in New York. Since 2017 you have been working as an IT specialist.
Manrique’s mother says her daughter was traveling to Ecuador when the tragedy occurred. After a short time, the family traveled to Ecuador to take the body home to Peru.
The case is now under investigation.
