“Sandiaga Uno Visits Prabowo Subianto After Eid Prayer: Gerindra Party Meeting and Presidential Election Plans Discussed”

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy who is also Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra Party, Sandiaga Uno, this morning visited the residence of the Minister of Defense who is also General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto. Sandiaga visited Prabowo’s house after the Eid prayer at the Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta.

For more than two hours, Sandiaga bmet with Prabowo and a number of Gerindra Party leaders. One of the party leaders present was Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani. A number of cadres who were close to Prabowo were also present at the house located on Jalan Kertanegara, Selong, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

“Complete all from Gerindra, the leader is Pak Secretary General (Ahmad Muzani), there are all parties close to Pak Prabowo,” said Sandiaga Uno in a written statement, Saturday (22/4/2023).

Sandiaga did not explain in detail the contents of the meeting which took place the day after the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) declared Ganjar Pranowo the 2024 presidential candidate. He only revealed that the meeting of Gerindra Party officials was only a friendly gathering on Eid al-Fitr.

“In accordance with the message of Eid al-Fitr, strengthening friendship to welcome victory after almost three years I didn’t come here (Prabowo’s residence) for Eid, this time for Eid and there are no restrictions,” said Sandiaga.

“Thank God, we can see facing a pandemic and reviving the economy, the hope is like that,” he said.

Even so, Sandiaga congratulated Ganjar Pranowo on being elected as the presidential candidate of the PDIP. According to him, this determination was very reasonable, considering that a number of stages of the 2024 presidential election contestation were already underway.

“I congratulate you, and this stage of the contestation of democracy has entered the next stage, in less than 300 days, of course we must be more active in creating opportunities to revive our economy,” said Sandiaga.

Meanwhile, regarding the amount of support from the United Development Party (PPP), which has pushed him forward in the 2024 presidential election, Sandiaga admits that he has yet to make a decision. The former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta admits that he is still contemplating to make up his mind at this time.

“Friends, please be patient, we will soon announce it, but this is in an atmosphere of Eid victory,” he said Sandiaga.

“Hopefully, God willing, this will be our hope for further strengthening our unity and accelerating our development, especially in the economic field, accelerating the creation of 4.4 million new jobs. community leaders,” he concluded.
