Head of the PPP National Bappilu Sandiaga Uno raised his voice regarding his failure to be appointed as vice presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential election.
Sandi was proposed by his party as Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate as a result of Rapimnas V last July. However, PDIP General Chair Megawati announced Mahfud MD’s name as vice presidential candidate on Wednesday (18/10), and it was registered with the General Election Commission (KPU) the day after.
Sandi revealed his feelings when delivering a speech at the 30th Harlah event of the PPP’s organizational wing, the Young Generation for Indonesian Development (GMPI), Wednesday (18/10) evening. He admitted that his heart was disappointed but he still had to smile.

The pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD officially registered with the KPU today, Thursday (19/10). Both are supported by four parties, namely PDIP, PPP, Perindo and Hanura.
At around 13.10 WIB, the KPU received the required documents brought by Ganjar and Mahfud along with high-ranking coalition party officials.
“And we have checked the required documents for prospective candidate pairs registered today, we declare that the documents are complete,” said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari.
Furthermore, said Hasyim, the two pairs of balloons for the 2024 presidential election will undergo medical tests at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Central Jakarta, on October 22.
