Huawei, which earlier this year became the largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, says the company has been under “enormous pressure” because it has not been possible to obtain parts for the Honor production. The reason is that the US is trying to cut the company from the global supply chain.
Honor has been bought by a group of 40 companies, among them companies that sell the phone model, and Huawei will no longer be on the owner’s side. The purchase price is not disclosed, but previous estimates have been 100 billion yen, around 15 billion dollars.
The Americans believe that Huawei is a threat and can facilitate Chinese espionage, which the company rejects.
