Sanctions Await for Consumers Caught Selling Land Cruiser

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Consumer Toyota in Japan who just bought Land Cruiser 300 Reportedly can not directly sell it again to someone else. This agreement is bound in certain contracts with sanctions for consumers if violated.

Japanese automotive media, Creative311, received an acknowledgment from one of its customers who explained that they had to sign a letter of agreement containing an agreement not to sell the Land Cruiser 300 for 12 months after getting the unit.

If the consumer violates it, they are prohibited from buying another Toyota car unit. It’s not clear how long the deal will last or how long Toyota will continue to give it.

Engine1 explained that this step was taken by Toyota to prevent consumers from exporting or selling them as used cars abroad. Toyota is also known to limit the number of units one consumer can buy.

In addition, Toyota is said to be worried that the Land Cruiser 300, without an agreement, will end up in the wrong hands. There is a potential violation of foreign trade laws and depending on the destination of the export, it has the potential to become a major problem with global security threats.

Toyota doesn’t seem to want this big SUV to be used by terrorist groups. The old model Land Cruiser and Hilux pickup are known as one of their ‘favorite’ vehicles.

The Land Cruiser 300 is designed using the GA-F TNGA platform which is also used by the Tundra. This new frame makes it 200 kg lighter.

Toyota lowered the engine capacity, from the previous V8 to a 3,500 cc dual turbo V6 producing 409 hp and 650 Nm. There is also a 3,300 cc petrol V6 option with 305 hp and 700 Nm.
