Sánchez demands that Israel clarify the attack on the NGO that has caused seven deaths

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, demanded this Tuesday that Israel clarify the circumstances of the attack on the NGO of Spanish chef José Andrés that has caused the death of seven of its workers.

Sánchez has demanded this clarification in an intervention in the Jabal al Hussein refugee camp in Amman, where he has made a visit that has been his first activity on the tour of the Middle East that includes Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Before his intervention, he had already reported on social networks that he had conveyed his support to the Spanish chef José Andrés, “horrified” by the attack suffered by his NGO.

The humanitarian organization World Central Kitchen (WCK), founded by the Spanish chef living in the United States, announced that it is suspending its operations in Gaza after confirming that at least seven of its workers were killed “in an attack by the Israel Defense Forces” .

The airstrike, according to the NGO, cost the lives of a humanitarian team made up of a Briton, a Pole, an Australian and a citizen with dual American-Canadian nationality, as well as three Palestinians.

Both in his speech and on social networks, Sánchez expressed his condolences for the victims of the bombing.

“I demand and hope that the Israeli Government clarify the circumstances of this brutal attack that has taken the lives of seven people who were only cooperating,” he said in the refugee camp.

Previously, in his message on the social network, X was “horrified” by the death of the seven NGO workers.

“Your solidarity, altruism and commitment to those who need it most is a source of pride. The Government of Spain – he added – is with you.”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, has also been “horrified” and has supported the work of the chef José Andrés and the WCKitchen family.

“Spain supports their work. We demand a ceasefire and entry of humanitarian aid,” Albares wrote in X.
