It was in mid-May that IFK Gothenburg fired Tobias Sana. According to Blåvitt, the 32-year-old had then acted in a way that violated the club’s values of “friendly and professional behavior” in connection with the half-time break in the match against Kalmar FF.
However, Sana has been under contract with Blåvitt until last Friday. Then he broke the silence in one interview with SVT.
Now Sana has also chosen to write a long greeting to IFK Gothenburg’s supporters on her Instagram.
“When I came home there was an openness and an inclusive environment which made me incredibly happy and proud. That is not the case now. If you can not be self-critical with the ambition to get better both individually and towards the team after poor performances, the team will never get better “, he writes.
Sana also explains here that he regrets his behavior during the break in the Kalmar match, but at the same time he feels that what followed is not what IFK Gothenburg stands for.
“Previously, there was a dialogue and a genuine, both will and understanding, for both the football player Tobias Sana and the man Tobias Sana. Now only decisions and messages without dialogue and without the will to find a solution.”
He believes that his goal was to help Blåvitt back to where they belong, which he now did not get to experience.
“My dream and my drive was to win Swedish Championship gold and get out in Europe with the club that meant the most to me. But it feels like some people have decided that I do not fit in and it will forever hurt my heart” , writes Sana and then concludes by thanking the supporters for their support.
Blåvitt’s club director Håkan Mild chose not to comment on Sana’s statement on SVT, but refers to previous press releases.
