San Pedro will host great plays in its cultural program


This Saturday ‘Vis a Vis en Hawaii’, on World Theater Day

The spring cultural program in San Pedro Alcántara, which will run until June at the ‘La Alcoholera’ Performing Arts Center (CAE) and other spaces. It will have a fortnight of events that will take place both in the CAE and in outdoor areas such as the boulevard, the Paseo de las Palmeras or the Plaza de la Libertad; being activities that must go out and be present in public spaces.

The cultural program of San Pedro has proposals for all audiences and will feature five theatrical performances, two musicals and eight for children. One of the great cultural events of spring at CAE will take place on May 1; with the staging of the play ‘The colonel has no one to write to him’, directed by Carlos Saura and with the actor Imanol Arias as the protagonist. The scenic center will also host the 1st Puppet and Marionette Festival from the hand of such prestigious companies as Musicos de Brenes; on May 16, or Titiriteros de Binéfar, who will offer their show ‘Cómico de la legua’ on 13
June.

The theatrical offer also includes the play ‘Vis a vis en Hawai’, by the Benavente company; which will take place on March 27, coinciding with World Theater Day; ‘Double stories’, by local author Alejandro Pedregosa, (April 17), and ‘Imbécil’ by Alex O´Dogherty, which will arrive at CAE on May 30. There is also a space for the musical section in the cultural program of San Pedro, highlighting the David Lenker-Vicente Solsona Dúo concert, which will take place on April 30 in the Paseo de las Palmeras commemorating International Jazz Day; or the visit of the Andalusian Lyric Theater to the boulevard, on June 26, with its show ‘The one with the bunch of roses’; an amphitheater that will also host a live performance of the grupo de rock local ‘Devils in the sky’.
