San Miguel de Allende cultural program presented for Holy Week

Municipal authorities of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato – a city classified as a world heritage site – presented, in coordination with the religious authorities, the cultural program that will accompany the Holy Week festivities.

The activities will begin next Sunday, March 17 with the “Bringing of the Lord of the Column” and will continue until the 30th of that month, with a series of massive and solemn events, which include processions and religious activities in the main temples of the historic center, with the traditional “Santo Entierro” procession as the main event.

On March 22, the traditional Friday of Sorrows will be celebrated, where San Miguel residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the altars in homes and public spaces.

For March 24, the activities continue with Palm Sunday, a day that begins at 6:30 in the morning with the “Procession and Mass with the Lord of Triumph”, followed by the “Procession and Blessing of Las Palmas” at 11 in the morning.

From Monday, March 25 to Friday, March 29, the Holy Days, San Miguel de Allende will host a series of masses, processions and representations of the Stations of the Cross, where the following solemn celebrations stand out:

Finally, on Saturday, March 30, Holy Saturday, the activities close with the “Condolence Ceremony” starting at 6 pm in the Oratory temple.
