San Marzano Stadium, work continues

«The stadium redevelopment project is progressing at a good pace and we are convinced that we will finally be able to return home from the 2024-2025 season after three championships played in forced exile». These are the words of the general director Antonio Langella relating to the works that concern the Municipality of San Marzano sul Sarno. The plant has been under management since last summer San Marzano Footballwhich has started a project to create a real jewel of sports facilities, certainly among the best in all of Campania.

«We have read in recent days about alleged work stoppages, but they are absolutely baseless news. The project approved last year is moving forward quickly, despite the bureaucratic time required for the presentation and approval of two important variations. The first concerns the installation of new towers for the lighting system, which comply with the criteria for Lega Pro stadiums. An improvement for which so-called load tests are necessary, which require technical times that certainly cannot be reduced to a few days. Another variant requested and approved concerns the two new sectors that will arise in the facility: the local grandstand sector – with adjoining VIP area and press area – and the corner reserved for our supporters. The initial project included prefabricated stands in galvanized steel, as they exist for example at the stadium Castellani Of Empoli. According to the variant, however, the two sectors will be prefabricated in masonry and obviously require “preparation” work for installation which also in this case requires considerable technical time. As regards the Curva sector, in the part below the steps there will be rooms set up to be used for various activities, while the structure that will house the toilets has already been erected». Despite the variations, the companies in charge of the work are proceeding apace.

«For the existing covered grandstand, all the systems have been completely redone, as well as structural finishing interventions which will be completed later. We then proceeded with the redevelopment of the existing toilets in two corners of the structure, with a complete renovation of the systems. From outside the stadium it is already possible to see the new building which will house 6 rooms on the ground floor used as changing rooms for teams and match officials. On the first floor there is space for the press room and corporate offices. In the area adjacent to the existing Grandstand, the structure previously used as a secretarial and warehouse room will be redeveloped and used for ambulance operators and firefighters on duty during the official competitions».

Finally, we will proceed with the installation and installation of the latest generation synthetic turf which will complete the redevelopment works of the Municipal stadium.
