San Mamés Stadium Chosen for Rugby Champions League Finals and 2030 World Cup Venue Consideration

The finals of the Epcr Challenge Cup and the 2026 Investec Champions Cup are already taking place. San Mamés is the stadium chosen to repeat the rugby Champions Leaguewhich it already hosted in 2018 after the work carried out by Athletic Club with the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, the Bilbao City Council and the different rugby federations.

This is not the only sporting event that La Catedral will host in the coming months. San Mamés will host the final of the Women’s Champions League in 2024 and the Europa League in 2025. It is also opting to be one of the 2030 World Cup venues.

The decision has been made by the Epcr with The Sports Consultancy, which received offers from 23 stadiums in 12 countries. For 2025, the venue chosen to organize the finals of the European rugby competitions has been the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
