A delegation from the Puntano Government was received by members of the Federal Council this last Tuesday and the same thing happened with the San Luis FC players last Friday. In both conclaves, AFA confirmed that the only solution to the conflict is for the authorities to lift the unilateral intervention on the institution.
Time is running out and the solution does not come. The intervention of the San Luis FC club by the Provincial Government of San Luis, through Legal Entities, It unleashed a conflict that led to the suspension of membership of the Sanluiseña Soccer League.
Within this whole conflict, in the last few hours, a delegation from the Puntano Government was present at the offices of the Federal Council to try to get the AFP entity to review its position and the same thing had happened last Friday when San Luis FC players were in the 5th floor of the building on Viamonte Street.
The response of AFA and the Federal Council was the same and inflexible: The only point of solution for this problem is for the San Luis Government, through Legal Entities, to cease the unilateral intervention of the institution. Something that at the moment does not seem to be on the agenda of the provincial state.
This Thursday the Federal Tournament club meeting will take place and the representatives of the “green” and “auriazul” will not be able to be part of it. They will also not be eligible for the 50 official balls that the Federal Council will deliver to each club to play in the 2024 season.
The specific fact of the suspension of membership by the Council (therefore also by the AFA) is a clear message of total rejection of political/judicial interventions within the structure of Argentine football.
