After two long years,
Rioseco once again celebrates its popular patron saint festivities in honor of San Juan from June 23 to 27, which arrive in full entry into level 1 with the consequent relaxation of many restrictions, including the elimination of the use of masks, although the limited capacity is maintained with the withdrawal of invitations. “It will be the festivities of responsibility,” according to the mayor, David Esteban. A bullfight, music in recitals and concerts, theater and children’s games will be the protagonists of the festivities.
Undoubtedly,
the main event will be the mixed race to be held on Sunday, June 27, at 7:00 p.m., in a celebration in which six bulls from the Castillejo de Huebra herd will be fought by the rejoneador Moura Caetano and the right-handers Finito de Córdoba and Uceda Leal, and a young bull by the young Cristian González. For its part, the Riosecana Bullfighting Association will carry out an audiovisual show to commemorate the ten years of the successful charity calves.
In the music section, there will be a great local representation with the
performances by the municipal band on its 25th anniversary, the veteran group Los Halcones or the Electrocharanga Lokomotores, which will be joined by those of Sal Gorda and Jorge Ferré Band. Like every June 24, the church of Santa María will host the mass in honor of the patron saint, although this year there will be no traditional procession but the dances of the local dance group.
Double passes per activity
Due to the resounding success of all the programmed activities, when the invitations were exhausted in a matter of hours on Monday, the different councils have worked against the clock to schedule double passes in children’s or cultural activities, as well as in the expansion of the capacity of the places that they allow it like the Cattle Market or the Bullring.
In this way, all children’s activities (Baby Rock, Bricomances Theater, magic show and Minichef) will have a second pass at the end of the first scheduled. The same will happen with the concert of the Municipal Music Band. The capacity of the events in the Cattle Market and the bullring are expanded to the maximum allowed (which is a thousand people), as is the case of the audiovisual of the charity calves and the performances of Lokomotores Electrocharanga and Jorge Ferré. For their part, Los Halcones change the location of their concert from San Francisco to Mercado de Ganado.

There will be t
ime for humor, with JJ Vaquero and Alex Clavero, but also for theater, with the children’s representation of ‘Bricomanazas’, by the company La Sonrisa, and ‘Flotados’, by David Moreno and Cristina Calleja, winners of the best street show at the XII Max Performing Arts Awards.
The little ones will be the protagonists with the musical performance Baby Rock, in a fun gymkhana, on inflatables and in a minichef session. Other activities, in which young people up to 16 years old can also participate, will be paintball and archery combat, with the use of arrows with approved foam tips. For its part,
local sports fans will have their thong competition. Competitive games will also be held, as well as canoeing and paddle surfing in the Canal de Castilla for all ages.
