Cobra is applying for the same project at Barcelona Airport for 10 million euros
MADRID, 18 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Grupo San José has presented the best economic offer to be awarded the construction of a photovoltaic solar plant at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport for 99.1 million euros, according to the tender documents.
The construction company listed on the continuous market has thus imposed itself on the two other companies that finally applied for this contract: Cobra, a company that ACS recently sold to Vinci, and Grupo Ortiz, both with a budget of slightly more than 100 million euros .
At the beginning of the process, up to 10 companies showed their interest in this contract, but finally only those three presented an economic proposal. Amper, FCC, EDP, Elector, Sacyr or Comsa were some of them.
The tender is now undergoing prior evaluation by the contracting body, which is Aena’s own board of directors. The process began last November 2021.
The solar plant will have a total installed power of 142.42 MWp and a nominal power of 120 MW. It will occupy an area equivalent to 353 soccer fields and will be located on different plots within the airport grounds. In addition, its more than 235,000 photovoltaic modules will generate an energy of 212 GWh per year, which represents the average consumption of 65,000 homes per year.
Aena will also undertake the same project at the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, although with a lower amount of 10 million euros. In that case, Cobra has presented the best economic offer, compared to a single group: Render, with a more expensive proposal of 4,000 euros.
This plant will have a total installed power of 12.52 MWp and a nominal power of 10 MW. With its 20,800 photovoltaic modules, it will generate an energy of 19.9 GWh per year, equivalent to the average consumption of 6,000 homes per year.
With the start-up of these two photovoltaic solar parks, whose estimated time for design, execution and commissioning is around 50 months, 27% of the photovoltaic installations in the Aena airport network will have been completed.
