San José Hospital treated 23% more people during the first half of the year – Municipality of Campana

The municipal hospital has increased its services compared to the same period last year. The number of services is even higher at the Guardia, which responded to 32% more queries compared to 2023. At the same time, care at the local CAPS also increased.

The significant investment made by Mayor Sebastián Abella’s administration in the area of health, both in the San José Hospital and in the Primary Care Centers (CAPS), has been evidenced in the statistics produced by the municipal health system during the first half of this year.

During this period, 112,359 queries were answered at the municipal hospital, while 70,611 people were treated at the Guardia.

This, compared to the same period in 2023, marks a 23% increase in the total number of queries answered. But that percentage grows to 32% if only the consultations carried out in the Emergency Room are taken into account.

And this significant increase in the number of patients who have passed through the San José Hospital during the first half of the year occurs, even though there has also been a significant increase in the number of consultations and care registered in the CAPS.

With the new, modern and larger buildings that were put into operation in neighborhoods such as Las Campanas, San Felipe and Las Acacias, in the first half of 2014 more than 157,000 consultations were attended to in the different CAPS of the city.

This figure marks a 16% increase in care provided in CAPS compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, understanding the importance of the municipal health system for residents, as well as for those from nearby cities who choose Campana for care, the Municipality continues to develop investments in the San José Hospital.

In fact, after the construction of the new Laboratory and the relocation of the Pharmacy, work is currently underway to expand the Emergency Room, the first stage of which will result in a new adult hospitalization room that will allow for an increase in the number of beds and also create a space for the on-call doctors to rest.

The existing bathrooms will subsequently be repaired and the construction of new consulting rooms and a shock room for children is planned.

In turn, given the growing demand for appointments and consultations, the new Office of Quality and Patient Satisfaction was also put into operation, with the aim of providing better quality of care to patients at San José Hospital.
