The Government of the Province of Córdoba is in the final stage of paving the 33.5 kilometer stretch of Provincial Route 16, which links San José de la Dormida with Las Arrias. This work, with 99% progress, is essential to improve the road infrastructure of the region.
The paving of this route is of great importance for the agricultural and livestock-raising towns it connects, facilitating the transport of products and improving communication with National Routes 60 and 38. This, in turn, will enhance the mobility of goods to different regions of the country.
The work includes the construction of an asphalt concrete layer 6.70 metres wide and 0.05 metres thick. In addition, reinforced concrete cross-sections and headers are being installed to improve natural drainage, thus guaranteeing a safe and long-lasting infrastructure.
As part of the project, a roundabout was also built at the intersection of Provincial Route 16 and National Route 9, which will have state-of-the-art LED lighting and traffic islands for safe traffic. Horizontal and vertical signage will also be implemented throughout the section and at the roundabout, with the aim of ensuring road safety for users.
