A tour of downtown San Francisco Solano is the inescapable proof of a city in full expansion.
The large number of inhabitants, the operation of schools and colleges, a great production pole and the commercial activity that in recent years had a great growth, make Solano a city with its own characteristics within Quilmes.
Although the provincial train no longer operates, the station remains a landmark. From there, the shops are located on 844 avenue, the banks, the fire station, the Church, the Eduardo Oller hospital – one of the most important health centers in the district – and the main schools, including the vast Technique 3.
The population needed to have essential services in order not to travel daily to the center of Quilmes, this explains the incessant movement that began since its foundation, 72 years ago.
The parish, too, is one of the most visited by the faithful from different regions of the South Zone.
Solano has a unique characteristic for the district, since it shares the surface with Almirante Brown, although the largest extension and number of inhabitants belongs to Quilmes.
The cultural diffusion centers, such as the Amaicha, the Juan Bautista Alberdi Popular Library and the stage of the playón – where the massive celebrations were held this year – are also a response to the need of the residents to have institutions that become the voice of your expectations and needs, with the particularities of a new city.
