With the presence of the municipal mayor, Damián Bernarte, the Italian school ‘Italia Mondo’ held the celebration of the 24th edition of the Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo through an entertaining literary show called ‘Dal libro al palcoscenico’ organized by the school, with the special participation of La Comedia San Francisco Teatro.
The event, which took place at the Tecnoteca San Francisco, was also attended by the secretary of Educational, Technological and Productive Linkage of the Municipality of San Francisco, Germán Fassetta and the consular agent of Italy in San Francisco, Fernando Lorenzatto; the president of the ‘XX Settembre’ Mutualist Association Matías Carnaghi; the president of the San Francisco Piedmontese Family Association, José Luis Vaira; teachers, students and the general public.
This celebration was declared of municipal interest by the San Francisco Deliberative Council, through Resolution No. 211/2024. Furthermore, it is the main event for the promotion of the Italian language in the world and is organized by the cultural and diplomatic network of Farnesina (Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale).
It has taken place every year since 2001, during the month of October, and promotes the holding of conferences, exhibitions and events related to a guiding theme throughout the world.
The theme chosen this year was “L’itailano e il libro: il mondo fra le righe” (The Italian and the book: the world between the lines). Through this show we sought to rediscover the magic of live literature.
The municipal mayor Damián Bernarte, addressing those present at this very special event, highlighted that “it is a pleasure to be here sharing with you this very important event of the Week of the Italian Language in the World” after which he made available to the meeting to the facilities of Tecnoteca San Francisco “a space that our neighbors have appropriated because it is a very beautiful place in the most beautiful city in the world.”
Later, the mayor renewed his congratulations on the date that was being celebrated and urged those present “to enjoy this show in which Adrián (Vocos) and his entire cast have done a lot, who are carrying out an undertaking that is part of “This process of development of the city recovering the Municipal Theater as an iconic space that will surely be filled with culture and great activities so that San Francisco continues to be a city of events.”
