(CNN) A bike was stolen from a garage in San Diego, California. San Diego police have released a video of the suspect playing with the home’s dog before leaving and appealing to the public for information.

The man in the video was pushing his bike out of the garage. A golden retriever appeared there and chased the man while wagging its tail. The man went back inside the garage to prop his bike up and he started playing with the dog.

The dog whose head was stroked lays down on its back and becomes affectionate, while the man rubs the dog’s belly and says things like, “You’re the best dog.” When the dog licked his face, he laughed, “I love you too.”

After playing with the dog for a while, the man pushed the bike away. The dog stands at the entrance of the garage and sees the man off.

Despite the seemingly peaceful scene, the police are taking this crime seriously. A bicycle worth $1,300 (about 190,000 yen) was stolen, and police are still looking for the man on suspicion of theft.
