In a recent ruling issued by the Electoral Court of the Province of Río Negro, it has been decided to sanction the Frente Renovador San Antonio Oeste party with the loss of the right to receive contributions, subsidies and any public financing resource for one (1) year.
The decision, reflected in the Final Sentence 018/2024/JEP, was based on the party’s failure to comply with the obligation to enable a single bank account for the deposit of its party funds, in accordance with the provisions of article 104 of the Law. O 2431. Despite the court’s injunctions, the party could not prove the opening of said account. The ruling, which follows the provisions of article 105 of Law O 2431, highlights that although the party does not have a punitive record, the sanction is applicable for a period of one year, as ruled by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. This fact marks an important precedent for the control of the financing of political parties in the province, ensuring compliance with current regulations.
