The Potato Festival will be held on September 25 and 26
The Department of Festivities of the San Antonio de Benagéber City Council has decided to suspend the Festivities of San Roque 2021, which take place during the first fortnight of August, following the announcement by the Ministry of Health that events and festivities may be held from September 1st.
The reason for the suspension responds to the need to guarantee the safety of the population, according to municipal sources.
Likewise, the celebration of the traditional ‘Potato Festival’ during September 25 and 26 at the municipal sports center. Usually this festival is celebrated for one day, but this year the intention is to expand it to two to include a greater number of activities. However, the celebration will be subject to the epidemiological situation of the moment, complying in any case with the regulations in force.
The Party Councilor, Daniel Nieto, stated that “this moment allows us to be a little more optimistic and start planning the first parties, but we have not yet overcome the pandemic, so we must adhere to the guidelines stipulated by the Ministry and be prudent to the maximum. ”
