San Antonio de Benagéber is filled with tradition and unity with the civic procession of October 9

The holiday of October 9, Valencian Community Day, has colored the streets of San Antonio de Benagéber with pride and tradition on a day marked by good time and the citizen participation. The commemorative events began early in the morning with the traditional civic procession, which started from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

The mayor of the town, Eva María Tejedor Maríwho has been present at all times on the tour, has delegated the honor of carrying the Royal Senyera in the second deputy mayor and councilor of Local Police, Pedro Perez. Accompanying Pérez in this solemn task have been the first deputy mayor, Luis Trejo; the delegate councilor for Sports, Salvador Barbera; the Chief of the Local Police, Juan Jose Cano; y Juan Riosa prominent member of the Pensioners’ Union (UDP) of the municipality. All of them have respectfully escorted the insignia along the route.

Music and emotion

The Musical Society of San Antonio de Benagéber has been in charge of marking the passage of the procession, performing a selection of Valencian pieces that have filled the streets with music and emotion. At the end of the tour, back at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the band culminated its performance with the solemn interpretation of the anthem of the Valencian Community.

As a culmination, the La Senyera Dance Group has offered a show of regional dances in front of the town hall façade. Finally, a male has put the finishing touch to this very special day.

The mayor of the town, Eva María Tejedor Marí, wished “a happy Valencian Community day to all the residents” and expressed her gratitude “to all the entities that have participated in the different events that have been held on the occasion of October 9, both in the exchange of bands and in the Night of Dawnas well as during the civic procession.”
