ServeQ announced on the 11th that it participated in the ‘2024 Seoul Cafe Show’ held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul from the 6th to the 9th.
The Seoul Cafe Show is Asia’s first coffee fair and was held on the largest scale ever with 681 coffee brands from 36 countries around the world participating this year. Samyang Corporation has participated for six years since 2017 to propose cafe and bakery solutions using products supplied by ServeQ.
Samyang Corporation operated a separate Cafe Lab booth and introduced two types of plant-based beverages (Cafe Lab Almond and Cafe Lab Oat) from the Australian coffee brand ‘Cafe Lab’. Cafe Lab is a plant-based beverage brand that uses 100% Australian almonds and oats and is known locally as ‘Milk Lab’. Samyang Corporation has been exclusively supplying Cafe Lab products in Korea since this month to expand its share of the domestic cafe and bakery market.
A demonstration event was also held to highlight the benefits of Cafe Lab’s drinks. On the 8th, World Barista Championship winner Anthony Douglas made coffee using Cafe Lab beverages and provided a tasting opportunity.
The ServeQ booth was decorated with the ‘Grocerant’ concept, which combines groceries and restaurants, and proposed a variety of products and services necessary for store operation. A grocer is a special cultural space where you can make or taste food using ingredients that can be purchased at the store.
ServeQ is a frozen bakery product developed by Samyang Corporation, Swiss frozen bakery brand ‘Histang’, French bakery brand ‘Coupe de Pot’, authentic Danish bakery brand ‘Mette Munch’, American chunky cookie brand ‘Oh My Sweetness’, and Italian tomato sauce. Overseas premium bakery products and food ingredients were introduced, including the brand ‘Muti’ and the New Zealand butter brand ‘Anchor’.
Various recipe demonstration events were also held. Chef Kim Ho-yoon, who appeared on cooking programs such as Olive Show and 100 Years Restaurant, presented pasta and risotto using muti sauce. Fabrice Prosachon, a French master chef from Arista Group, a European frozen bakery company, also demonstrated a New York roll (a dessert with cream inside pastry) and a tart using croissant dough. Pastry chefs from ServeQ also presented special recipes using croissants.
Choi Nak-hyeon, CEO of Samyang Corporation, said, “Cafe Lab can be consumed as a standalone product and goes well with cafe drinks, so we will receive a positive response from the domestic cafe and bakery market. We participate in the cafe show every year to showcase the high-quality ingredients supplied by ServeQ and operate the store. “We will suggest necessary services and unique recipes,” he said.
