POLITICS. The MP for Beauce-Sud, Samuel Poulin, believes he delivered the goods during his assessment of the last parliamentary session which ended on June 10.
During a press conference on June 14, Mr. Poulin indicated that it was important for him that the government invest in all the municipalities of the riding, including the smallest ones, an objective which he believes he has achieved.
To support this point, Mr. Poulin gave the example of the creation of four new CPEs which will offer 161 new daycare places in La Guadeloupe, Notre-Dame-des-Pins, Saint-Honoré and Saint-Prosper over the next 12 months. , $5.4 million in work at La Tourterelle school in Saint-Benjamin and the signing of an agreement with Sogetel for high-speed Internet access in La Guadeloupe and Saint-Évariste.
The MP also named the launch of work on a first open area for young people aged 12 to 25. “The opening is scheduled for the fall of 2022. Moreover, seven professionals have already been hired,” he said.
Mr. Poulin also spoke of his desire to attract tourists to the south of Beauce, naming the financing of the work on the Perrault bridge in Notre-Dame and the reception chalet at Grand Morne in Sainte-Clotilde. “It’s a priority for me,” he insisted.
Added to this is financial support for several companies to help them automate and robotize their facilities. We should also mention that discussions concerning the route of the Autoroute 73 bypass are still ongoing. “Our goal is to present the route in the fall and start construction in 2024,” he said.
This was Mr. Poulin’s fourth and final report before the provincial elections, which will take place this fall. This first mandate was marked by the pandemic. “Despite this, we managed to deliver many commitments,” he said.
The latter indicated that the most important thing for him is to have respected his commitments, particularly with regard to the bypass of Highway 73 and the multisport complex at the Polyvalente de Saint-Georges.
At the national level, the MP underlined the financial assistance to deal with inflation of $500 per person, to which could be added assistance which could reach $400 per couple, the adoption of Bill 96 on the French language and the establishment of the anti-reconciliation bracelet in a context of domestic violence.
