The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, proposed that the passenger and cargo train that he manages in Texas and with the government of Mexico not only reach Texas, but all the way to Canada.
The proposed train route is Mexico City, Monterrey, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma, Chicago and Toronto, Canada.
The president is still in Austin, Texas, where he attended an electromobility summit and where he holds meetings with authorities and companies in the Texas region.
In a video, García said this morning that “taking advantage of the inertia” that the new Mexican government, headed by Claudia Sheinbaum, has as its main project to build trains, he will seek to have the one that comes from Mexico City to Nuevo Laredo cross to Canada .
“These are opportunities that occur once every 100 years, that just as Bernardo Reyes managed to change one municipality to another in Coahuila to have a border, today we can have in Anáhuac, in La Gloria–Colombia, a customs office that will have, apart from 13 lanes, freight train and passenger train.”
“(The train) can reach Canada, that is, Monterrey, Laredo, San Antonio, Dallas, Oklahoma, Chicago and it reaches Toronto, so we continue working and we are very focused on this project, because it is a dream of Nuevo León that We are going to make it a reality,” he said.
To advance this intention, he stated, this weekend he will have a meeting with the mayor of Laredo, Texas, senators, representatives and customs authorities of that city with whom he will discuss this plan.
Even, he stated, they will look for a way to lower infrastructure resources from Joe Biden’s government for this purpose.
“We remain firm in these projects that will unite us with Texas.”
“Now we are going to add to this letter of intent the authorities of Laredo, that is, the mayor, deputies, senators, federal authorities and customs authorities.”
“The meeting is to manage to lower Biden’s federal infrastructure resource, and take advantage of the inertia of the train coming from Monterrey to Mexico City, or vice versa, from CDMX to Monterrey, arriving at Colombia customs we would have, as It is established by the master plan, a first-world customs, the fastest, the safest that will have total efficiency with the double inspection because today they cross in five minutes,” he expressed.
The president of Nuevo León stated that the plan is being coordinated by the Secretary of Regional Development and president of Codefront, Marco González.
“With Laredo we have to accelerate the issue of money, permits, transfers, interconnection, very important things are coming in the three years.”
“At that customs office, the master plan contemplates a possible airport in the future,” he said.
This morning the governor published images of the meeting with directors of the company Silicon Lab, which manufactures microchips for different products.
This meeting took place on Wednesday, as did Oracle, both located in Austin, Texas.
“On our tour of Texas we met with our friends from Silicon Lab, a world-class technology company that makes microchips for appliances, phones and even cars like Tesla.”
“What do they say, should we take them to Nuevo León? “Cheer up!”, posted the president.
Samuel will be in Anáhuac this weekend
The governor of Nuevo León also announced that over the weekend he will be in the Anáhuac area and other northern municipalities to verify the progress of the state’s Civil Force barracks.
He pointed out that the detachments under construction will have capacity for up to 500 elements.
“It is already confirmedWe left on Saturday on a tour to the north, we are going to go to customs, we are going to have supervision from Gloria-Colombia, from the Vallecillo, Salinas, and Villaldaman detachments, which is a detachment of 500 elements that, by the way, yesterday “They did a great job, all my people from the Civil Force.”
“After this tour we are going to have a meeting with authorities from Laredo, now from Laredo, just as we were with authorities from San Antonio and Austin, and we have been with those from Dallas and Houston,” he indicated.
