(Philadelphia) Samuel Morin scored his first career NHL goal and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Rangers 2-1 on Saturday night.

Selected at 11e Ranking in the 2013 draft, Morin broke the deadlock with a point shot with 4:27 remaining in the third period.
Morin had not earned a point in 14 games in the NHL. The Flyers took him from defenseman to attacker before returning him to the blue line.
The great Quebec defenseman may have scored the most important of the season for the Flyers, who suffered 9-0, 8-3 losses to the Rangers in the past 10 days.
Nolan Patrick also hit the target for the Flyers, who climbed to fifth place ahead of the Rangers in the East section. Brian Elliott stopped 24 shots.
Mike Zibanejad scored his team’s only goal and he continued to terrorize the Flyers. The Swede had two games of three goals and three assists in the Rangers’ convincing wins over the Philadelphia Troop. Igor Shesterkin made 35 saves.
