The governor Samuel Garcia Sepulveda arrived this morning at the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) as part of the start of the UN Water Conference 2023 which will take place in New York City.
From an early hour, the state president uploaded different stories to his Instagram account where he announced his arrival at the plenary session of the water conference that will take place precisely at the facilities of the HIM.
According to García Sepúlveda, his investiture as governor is on behalf of the Mexican State.
“We are coming to the water plenary, we are going to be in the place of Mexico,” he said.
Prior to the start of the Assembly, the state president indicated that Nuevo León will be a national example in water matters, Therefore, they will seek to guarantee orderly and sustainable development in the face of the arrival of foreign investment, such as Tesla.
He also highlighted the construction of the new freedom dam, he El Cuchillo II aqueduct, shallow and deep wells, and actions such as modulation, which are part of the Master Plan to Guarantee Water until 2050.
“Water is gold, water is the future, so from the UN we are going to be a national example with other projects such as desalination, the Panuco River project.
“Yesterday we began with the modernization of the entire irrigation district of El Chapotal, to save water and that all citizens have enough,” he added.
The Comprehensive Mid-Term Review of the Implementation of the Goals of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018-2028 will be addressed at the water conference.
Subsequently, the state andatario will hold a bilateral meeting with Sergio Camposhead of Water and Sanitation at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), to seek collaboration opportunities and maximize the positive impact in Nuevo León, and from Nuevo León for Latin America.
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the FEMSA Foundation have been envisioning and promoting together a more prosperous future for Latin America for 15 years.

In his latest activity, Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda will meet with businessmen, federal, state and municipal officials, as well as consuls in the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF), to share the State’s project to build a Water Innovation Hub for the Latin American region, through a multi-sector collaboration with Tec de Monterrey, FEMSA Foundation, the IDB and Source of Innovation partners.
