Samuel Chukwueze surprised to join such a big club AC Milan. Moreover, he could not believe that the Rossoneri were interested in him.
After going through a tough negotiation process, Chukwueze was finally released Villarreal to Milan with a total tag of 28 million euros, which includes a bonus clause. Chukwueze happens to be that his contract will expire at Villarreal next year.
Therefore Villarreal inevitably have to sell it this summer rather than lose it for free. But, of the many offers that came in, Chukwueze did not hesitate to choose Milan as his next port.
Naturally, considering Milan’s status as a world football giant, Chukwueze felt both flattered and surprised. He admitted that he was confused when Milan made an offer that he thought was just a joke.
However, the offer was true because Milan was attracted by the performance of players with Villarreal last season. He made 13 goals and 11 assists from 50 matches in all competitions, as well as bringing the club to a top five finish.
“It’s really crazy, I’m a little nervous. Many Milan fans have sent me messages, they are amazing, and one of the reasons I came here,” Chukwueze was quoted as saying Football Italia.
“When they said Milan approached me, I thought it was just a joke. I did not hesitate to accept it.”
Samuel Chukwueze has added a long line of new AC Milan players this summer. Previously there were Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Luka Romero, Tijjani Reijnders and Noah Okafor.
